RE: Emergency Road Service. Satisfied With Your Provider?

I had Good Sam RS -- had two incidents with less than stellar service.
I switched to Coach Net and have been very pleased.

RE: Anyone Heading to Myrtle Beach, SC for the 4th?

We're at Pirateland now -- we will leave on Sat. 6/28 -- traffic is bad now so we usually don't stay during holidays.
Have fun--stay safe.

TT accident I-95 south 6/23/08

On our way to Myrtle Beach on Monday 6/23 -- we passed a bad accident on I -95 south at the NC/SC line. A suv and TT were upside down -- Saw two adults that appeared to be ok. Couldn't tell what had happened -- just hope everyone was ok.
Both vehicles were totaled--
Be careful.

RE: Smith Mountain Lake State Park, VA

We have been to the State park once -- nice area. Not much to do if you do not have a boat or into hiking.

Save some seafood --we'll be down there June 23-28 -- couldn't get into the State Park so we will be in Pirateland.
Have fun.

RE: Atlantic Beach, NC

That's about it for that area -- the campgrounds have been selling out to the condos.
There are more choices on the Outer Banks or close to Wilmington.

RE: Cape Hatteras and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina

You should not have any problems on the roads or ferries.
Check out the National Parks (no hookups)-- other campgrounds
Camp Hatteras
Hatteras KOA
There are a couple of others --check out visitnc website.
Also there are campground review sites that could help you.

RE: need Myrtle beach advice on alternatives

If you get site 20 or one in that area-- I don't believe you would have a problem.
We have a 38' MH and have stayed there with no problems.

RE: Winnebago/Itasca product quality

2000 Winnebago Adventurer -- This is our second Winnebago and I have been very pleased with both this A and the Minnie. Have not had any major problems -- even on a 12,000 roundtrip to Alaska from NC.
In the next few months we will be looking to trade for a Winnebago Journey. Like someone else said -- this company has been in business for 50 years which says a lot.

RE: Myrtle Beach area -> non-sardine campground?

Myrtle Beach Travel Park -- activities for kids --- nice clean park on the water -- close to other activities -- the sites are somewhat close -- outdoor & indoor pool
Myrtle Beach State Park -- no pool -- nice large lots -- State park with some full hookups -- fishing pier
Most all of the parks in Myrtle Beach have close sites.

Vista & Verizon

I have a Dell computer with the Vista operating system and am not able to get the Verizon Broadband to work with this system.
Anyone had similar problems or know of a solution?
The system states that it is connected but will not bring up a web site.

RE: Myrtle Beach campgrounds

Myrtle Beach Travel Park(north end of Myrtle Beach)
Myrtle Beach State Park (south end of Myrtle Beach)
Both are on the ocean side-- the state park is very nice and has several full hookups.
September could be iffy -- possible hurricanes but there are not as many people. Lots of entertainment and restaurants-- you could do a day trip to Charleston--
Happy Trails.

RE: Winnebago Adventurer opinions.

My 2000 Adventurer has been great -- drove 12,000 roundtrip from NC to Alaska and did not have a single problem.
I love the basement air -- it makes the coach so much quieter and evenly cools. I am a fan of Winnebagos and will be trading for a Journey 2007 in the next couple of weeks. Now that I am retired -- I can better justify the DP.
I do not think you can go wrong with a Winnebago. Just my opinion.
Happy Trails.

RE: I'm I wrong?

I turn the heat on until I have the unit winterized. After the unit is winterized, I do not use the heat.
In NC, we can usually wait until the first of January to have our units winterized.
